Celebration of the Sacraments
at St. Augustine

St. Augustine's is a faith community enjoying the fullness of the Catholic Sacramental Tradition. Within the Ecumenical Catholic Communion, we celebrate all the historic Sacraments of the Church:
  • Baptism
  • Eucharist
  • Confirmation
  • Reconciliation (Penance or Confession)
  • Marriage
  • Anointing (Sacrament of the Sick)
  • Holy Orders (Ordination to Diaconate or Priesthood)
We have a wonderful Marriage Preparation Ministry led by Fr. David. Each year, as many as 20 couples make the journey of preparation, and the appreciation of the process is nearly universal. Please see our separate page on the Marriage Preparation program.

We also baptize a number of infants and children each year, and some adults as well. Children aged five or older receive a very nice and age-appropriate catechesis prior to the Sacrament. For adults wishing to be baptized, the more traditional process of the Catechumenate is appropriate. This refers to the ancient practice whereby, over a period of time, one learns the basic tenets of Christian faith, belief and practice, and with the assistance of a spiritual teacher and mentor, readies oneself for reception of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation (also known as the Sacraments of Initiation). Fr. David will help each person with an individualized process of preparation. It is a profoundly meaningful process, culminating in a marvelous celebration at the Easter Vigil. It all begins with your simple inquiry.

For those already baptized, Confirmation is also generally conferred during the celebration of the Easter Vigil. Appropriate instruction and preparation is gladly provided depending on the catechetical and spiritual needs of the person.

We offer Reconciliation (Confession) by appointment, and also have scheduled Communal Celebrations of Reconciliation at least twice yearly (Advent and Lent).

The Sacrament of the Sick (Anointing) is available at any time, and if your loved one is gravely ill we urge you to contact us so that we may lend spiritual and sacramental support. We are of course very desirous of assisting our families with loving, consoling funeral rites. Just contact Fr. David at the number below.

And of course our community is always represented on those happy occasions when those who have journeyed through seminary training and spiritual formation are at last welcomed for the Sacrament of Holy Orders.

Call Fr. David at 303-320-3863 to discuss
any questions you have about the Sacraments of the Church.
